John Smedley competition boards

John Smedley project, British knitwear label, grounded in heritage.

Competition winner: Yarn sponsorship and short placement to develop styles and fabrics (to be completed)

I wanted to base my knitwear on traditiional technique, but put a twist on it to make the styles striking, dramatic and slightly more fashion led. Fairisles were blown up in merino wools, with flecks of lurex, styled with jersey pieces, to create a relaxed and wearable aesthetic.
